Prepare for going back to school and back to work by boosting your immune system.

Viral infections are all around us, every day. Most of them, we don’t notice because they are stopped by our immune system “security guards” who are designed to mitigate the threats and protect us.

Unfortunately, some viral strains are more potent than others, and we see this every year with influenza season.

Have you ever noticed that some people never get the flu, while others may get it every year, regardless of whether they received a flu shot or not?

This is because some people’s bodies are more hospitable to viral infections than others. There can be many different reasons for this such as genetics, malnourishment/poor diet, toxicity from mold or heavy metals, chronic stress, underlying infections, unresolved emotional pain… the list goes on.

Yet, some people have environments in their body where a virus just simply cannot survive.

This is what we want to strive for!

How do you do that?

We want you to feel empowered to take charge of your health and know that you can create a healthy body that won’t be an easy target to harbor any flu-like illnesses. You may not be able to control the outside world, but you can control your attitude and outlook. At Opus we strongly believe that our thoughts create our reality. So for us, the #1 thing we can do is to address our mindset. We urge you to think positively, feel gratitude for your amazing body that does so much for you, and remain focused on the good in your life. If you need help with mindset coaching, or suffer from limiting beliefs that are holding you back, please reach out to us. We would love to share with you our favorite self help books, and practices to overcome negative self-talk.

That said, on a more physical and tangible level the most important things you can do to improve your immune system are:

  • Drink plenty of water – stay hydrated
  • Sleep 6.5-8 hrs
  • Eat nutritionally dense foods (more details below)
  • Address your gut health
  • Minimize daily stress, or learn ways to manage your stress
  • Turn off the TV and go for a walk!

For more in-depth, and solid science-backed support of your immune system, we recommend UV (UltraViolet Light) Therapy and Major Autohemotherapy (MAHT) ozone blood therapy at Opus Antiaging & Wellness. These are two of the most powerful anti-viral, anti-inflammatory, and immune-boosting treatments available, and we offer them for our patients right here in Cedar Park, TX.

Our most recommended immune boosting infusions are IV Vitamin C & IV Glutathione. Vitamin C intravenously is the fastest, most effective method for getting 100% bioavailable vitamin C directly into your bloodstream to be carried throughout your body. Vitamin C is generally the most well known antioxidant, and for good reason. It has been well studied and shown to reduce the duration of illness with the common cold. Vitamin C is a necessary vitamin that is responsible for the function of enzymes and neurotransmitters. Glutathione is lesser known but  equally important in prevention and recovery from viral infections as another power-packed antioxidant that fights free radicals and protects against cellular damage.

We understand that not everyone has access to IV therapy, so we’re sharing our tried & true homeopathic antiviral protocol as a guide to avoid harboring any unwanted viruses as you return to public schools and workplaces this season. Please note this protocol is meant to be used under the supervision of Melissa Santiago ND or Gwieneverea Brandon MD at Opus Antiaging & Wellness, and is not considered a prescription. We will go over the protocol with you in the office and adapt it to your personalized care plan.
