Do you prefer a more natural approach to skincare and are interested in having a more youthful appearance, reducing wrinkles, under eye bags, and minimizing blemishes?

What if your body had the ability to heal damaged tissue, scarring, aging skin, and uneven pigmentation?

Turns out, it does!

With a little help from science, we’ve figured out how to accelerate those effects using your own blood. Also called collagen induction therapy, Microneedling revitalizes the skin by harnessing the body’s natural rejuvenation abilities in a process known as controlled wound healing.

During a microneedling procedure, our medical doctor rolls a high tech device containing tiny needles over the treatment area, creating small punctures in the skin. Known as micro-wounds, these punctures are microscopic and don’t damage the skin. Though superficial, the micro-wounds stimulate the wound healing sequence. The body increases circulation, releases growth factors, creates more cells, and produces more collagen. The result is beautifully restored, naturally rejuvenated skin.

The Vampire Facelift

Combining PRF or PRP with Microneedling is commonly known as the Vampire Facelift or Vampire Facial. The Vampire Facelift is popular as a natural alternative to synthetic fillers and Botox. It was made popular by celebs like Kim Kardashian because of the dramatic effect the plasma creates temporarily on the face during the treatment.

What to Expect During The Treatment

Here’s what you can expect at Opus Antiaging & Wellness during your Vampire Facelift in Cedar Park :

  • First, a doctor will draw your blood and spin it fast in a centrifuge, which separates the platelets. This is the key to how the Vampire Facelift works.
These platelets are full of tiny cells that signal the body to produce more blood vessels, collagen and dermal tissue. These growth factors have been used for decades in wound healing for burns and sports injury recovery.
  • Then the doctor will apply a topical numbing cream to the area, making the procedure pain free.
  • Next the doctor will either inject the platelet rich solution via syringe as they do a Botox injection, or they combine it with a microneedling device which creates tiny punctures in the skin which allows the skin to absorb the plasma and stimulates the body’s healing mechanisms to repair the damaged tissue.
The best part is, this procedure requires only topical anesthesia and is practically pain-free.
  • After this treatment, most people only need 48-72 hours of downtime before resuming normal activity. Most patients need 3 or 4 treatments to get the full desired effect.

Before Your Appointment

  • Drink as much water and eat as cleanly as you can 3 days leading up to the procedure.
  • Discontinue tanning or the use of self-tanners in the treatment area for at least 2 weeks prior to treatment.
  • We recommend always using a high-quality sunscreen with a physical block, and reapplying every 2 hours. You will want to re-schedule your treatment if you become sunburned.
  • Stop using skin care products with hydroquinone and Retin-A beginning 7–14 days prior to your procedure.

After Your Appointment

  • Your skin might be red and sensitive post-procedure, and you might have some light pin-point bleeding.
  • Stay hydrated and eat as cleanly as possible to enhance the healing results.
  • Avoid direct sunlight for at least 1 week, and use sunscreen, sunglasses, and sun hats or visors.
  • Clean make-up and brushes can be used 24 hours after the procedure. (Frankly, it’s a great time to replace your brushes, because they harbor bacteria.)
  • If peeling occurs, it might begin the day after your procedure, or it could be delayed until days 3, 4, or 5.

We love this minimally invasive, long lasting natural alternative to Botox for a more youthful appearance without surgeries and little down-time. It’s empowering to know that your body has the natural resources to heal itself and improve the appearance of your skin.
